some thoughts

i think pretty much im getting old.. not necessarily more mature, cus im still a kid at heart, but old. cause xanga and myspace and facebook and crap doesnt interest me anymore. instead at work im going through multiple blog sites about korean politics (seriously i cant believe it myself, what a fag i am?)

well while taking a part of and commenting in this web community about politics, i came to realize how rare of a breed i am.  i would say korean-american is rare in the first place, since there are so many more Americans and Koreans than Korean-Americans.  but even among korean-americans i think i am different, and i've only met a handful of people that are similar to me.  i have a vast interest in korea, and everything about it, whether its politics or culture.  im sure quite a few korean americans might be able to relate to me in some sense, but so far i havent run into anyone that spends their free time reading weblogs and personal opinions about korean media and politics.

which brings me to my next point, korean hip hop.  i have a shitload of fuckin amazing korean hip hop songs, that im sure most of you guys never heard in  your life.  if you know me well enough you know i love music and my taste in music is the shit.  but the thing is, no one appreciates korean hip hop.  in america, the only big names in korean hip hop are the likes of drunken tiger and some gay shit like 1tym and stuff, which is just sad.  the few pioneers of korean hip hop made korean hip hop's image in america into shit by acting stupid and sucking in music.  in korea, the hip hop fanbase is so small, and whether it's because of the lack of promotion or lack of interest from the general public, it just doesn't take off.  i feel bad for some of these good artists, cause some of them have some raw talent.

so basically ive come to the conclusion that only those few ppl that are similar to me can appreciate korean hip hop, and really in my lifetime, ive come across maybe five people total that are like me.  i kno there are probably some more out there, but no one really talks about these things yano?

ask me to send  you some of my fav  korean hip hop songs.  you know i'll be more than happy to share my favorite music.

tell me you how you like the music, be honest.  if you like it, it will make my day 1000 times.

this song is called mirror, by yang dong gun.

some heartwarming pictures from germany/korea

i aint no »¡°»ÀÌ but ÅëÀÏ supported by some random german dude

lol i understand ur insights but its everywhere

if ur stance was well-refined and conclusive, then u could reach the point ur trying to make: not that ur different, but established, stolid in ur perspective and position in this huge cruel world

believe me i feel u on so many levels man if u really into this shit study korean shamanism its the root of all koreans.. the reason korean people are the way they are and not like neone else in the world is because of this religion; much similarly if u study shinto u could see why the japs are so crazy in the head too

seriously if ur interested read up on it its INSANE like the reason why koreans are so into church why we love independent small business EVERYTHING comes from this primitive belief of ours shamanism is insane broo

and btw concerning korean music dont u think its falling apart it became so much like american pop taeji needs to make one more comeback some take 20 type shit drunkens gotta find cooler affiliates and someone should kill bi LOL ur so lucky to be in korea nigga but the fact of the matter is

DAE HAN MIN GOOK!   DA DA, DA, DA, DA

Why would you listen to Koreans pretending to be black?  I thought you were afraid of black people.

Hey, nice blog you have here. Yup, let's comment about Korean politics. That German guy with the North Korean flag is probably a North Korean soccer fan. North Korea played very well in the 1966 world cup and impressed the world and won many fans over. There are still brits who kept their autograph till this day. Recently, they made a trip back to the UK and many in the city of Middleborough still fondly remembered the North Korean soccer players.

Btw, how original is Korean hip hop? I have heard of some singers actually got their music and songs composed in the US. Do the majority of Korean hip hop singers do this or write their own music?

As I said, there are many artists that have tainted the face of korean hip hop, which is probably the main reason why korean americans don't want to give hip hop a chance.  some of the ridiculous wannabes made the genre look silly.  that's why i enjoy the likes of leessang and epik high, cause they dont front like they're black, but stick to the basics of hip hop.

Hi, I actually came over to your site via the Marmot's Hole.

I guess you can add me to your list of  people ( KA) who read webblogs about Korean media and politics.  LOL... I dunno about you but something about Korean news makes one want to start blogging about Korean media/politics, which isn't a surprise as quite a few expat bloggers have mentioned, there's always something going on in Korea to write about.  (Anyways, whether you consider reading about webblogs about korea lame or anything is up to you to decide, personally I think it's just you're way of showing interesting in this area).

"Hi, I actually came over to your site via the Marmot's"

You know what? The web site administrator over there had banned me from commenting on his website. He didn't even respond to my email when I asked if I was banned. All my comments just dissappeared.

Apparently, my last posting was my lecture at American policy of assimilating immigrants instead of letting immigrants integrate their culture into American society.

I guess white Americans do not like to be lectured by citizens of Asian nations.

I will tell you what I think about South Korea. It is doing better than Japan but it has yet to gain complete sovereignty.

But it is slowly marching in the right direction.

Still one photograph summarizes the situation. This photo was taken at Panmunjeom which is a place that divides the North and the South. Yet on the South side, the South Korean flag isn't represented. It is as though one side is North Korea, the other side is UN. South Korea does not exist.

http://www.lifeinkorea.com/Images/Kyonggi/dmz3.jpg

However, in the last 10 or so years, the South Korean government has surely made strides in regaining back control of its military. Prior to a few years ago, all Korean military was under command of the US. At least today, it is only so when there is a war. However, it needs to go back to the Korean people completely because in the end, if a war does break out, the people who pay the highest price will be the people living in that peninsular. Only then it is democratic.

to my knowledge, you were banned for trolling.  and as far as that is concerned i think its pretty fair to consider "PRC is the worlds best democracy" as a troll.  but i vouched for you as well as a few other people, saying that you are a nice person, with sometimes an unreasonable political view.  anyways, yeah, the JSA is very interesting, i'm thinking of visiting some time in the near future.

I didn't say "PRC is the world best democracy". I said, "PRC is the world's largest democracy". And why do you think PRC is not a democracy? There are elections held every 5 years, and any Chinese citizen who wishes to can stand and run for election. Those are fact which I can prove if you dispute even the above sentence.

YOu can read about China's last nationwide election on 2003 here.

http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/en/doc/2003-12/08/content_288018.htm

The problem with convincing most Americans is that Americans from a young age have been brainwashed by their media to believe that Communism is the opposite of Democracy. If you are communist, you cannot be democratic, and if you are democratic you cannot be communist. As a result, despite such clear cut evidence of democracy, Americans still refuse to believe. It cuts right into the roots of their beliefs.

We can argue about the degree of democracy whether pure or skin deep that is being practised in PRC, but we cannot doubt that it is not a democracy when the evidence is right in front of your eyes. Read it.
