walks from my life... seriously the most unexpected random
encounters.

however, the highlight of my night was when they they was playing RUSH
from ¸®½Ö's first album. songs a classic. and also was first
time i ever heard a korean song at a korean club.. it was also pretty
sad that it was the only korean hip hop song played last night. anyways
watever, enjoy the song.
Sunday, July 09, 2006

sometimes you have moments when you remember blurry nights from the

well while taking a part of and commenting in this web community about politics, i came to realize how rare of a breed i am. i would say korean-american is rare in the first place, since there are so many more Americans and Koreans than Korean-Americans. but even among korean-americans i think i am different, and i've only met a handful of people that are similar to me. i have a vast interest in korea, and everything about it, whether its politics or culture. im sure quite a few korean americans might be able to relate to me in some sense, but so far i havent run into anyone that spends their free time reading weblogs and personal opinions about korean media and politics.

which brings me to my next point, korean hip hop. i have a shitload of fuckin amazing korean hip hop songs, that im sure most of you guys never heard in your life. if you know me well enough you know i love music and my taste in music is the shit. but the thing is, no one appreciates korean hip hop. in america, the only big names in korean hip hop are the likes of drunken tiger and some gay shit like 1tym and stuff, which is just sad. the few pioneers of korean hip hop made korean hip hop's image in america into shit by acting stupid and sucking in music. in korea, the hip hop fanbase is so small, and whether it's because of the lack of promotion or lack of interest from the general public, it just doesn't take off. i feel bad for some of these good artists, cause some of them have some raw talent.

so basically ive come to the conclusion that only those few ppl that are similar to me can appreciate korean hip hop, and really in my lifetime, ive come across maybe five people total that are like me. i kno there are probably some more out there, but no one really talks about these things yano?

ask me to send you some of my fav korean hip hop songs. you know i'll be more than happy to share my favorite music.

tell me you how you like the music, be honest. if you like it, it will make my day 1000 times.

this song is called mirror, by yang dong gun.

some heartwarming pictures from germany/korea

What did the bouncer tell the grandma?

No in. (³ëÀÎ)

thought of this one on my way up to stony this weekend to cheer (chill).

one thing i've become disappointed in recently is the fickle nature of
new york sports fans. ive been a knicks/mets/jets fan
forever. and i will always be until i die. i mean the
knicks situation is very understandable ever since isaiah totally
butchered the team up, but that doesn't mean im gonna abandon the team
i've followed game by game since first grade. i was pretty
disappointed when i came home and found my brother a newfound nets fan,
and hes not the only one who's converted to a nets fan. you guys
are all fags.

another thing that pisses me off are all the "closet" yankee
fans. you either never followed baseball, or followed baseball
but never cheered for the yankees while living in new york, and now all
of a sudden you profess yourself as a yankees fan since everyone
already is a yankees fan and the yanks have done so well over the past
decade (pete an). this is lame.

i wont even bother talking about the giants cause if you like the giants that only means you like a giant cock in your ass.

anyways, i'm about ten months late on this one, but i played live 'o6
for the first time a few days ago, and i've already quit the game
because im so pro at it.

here are my opinions about the game (not that it really matters cause o7 will probably come out in two or three months)

1. superstars are too dominant. playing on all-star mode,
which im guessing most ppl play on, if you use lebron or kobe its
retarded. plus kobe is 80 in threes so he rapes shit up so easily its
retarded. my brother hit his first 10 shots with kobe including 5
threes when every shot was contested. plus if you are at the top
of the key and do a L1-button freestyle u press 2 buttons to go half
way across the court and score with you doing nothing.

2. alley-oops are retarded. its so easy to score off
alley-oops especially if u have a good passing point guard and a
superstar center (nash-any forward/center on suns, wade-shaq,
tinsley-o'neal, etc). i score all my points in like 2 seconds by
inbounding the ball at the halfcourt mark and alley-ooping.

3. pass intercepting/stealing is improved. you can finally
steal inbounds passes, and if you block the passing lane you get a
steal (live finally caught up with the 2k series on this one).

thats about it my life is boring as of now
end of the year update

Hi guys. so yeah. i'll be in korea this summer from may 23rd to august
whats the deal with sampling music, especially in hip hop? theres so
much hate for people that do it, and this i don't understand. i
remember growing up, people used to hate on puff daddy all the time
saying all he does is samples beats, etc. but thats what made him a
star, and everyone liked him.. then theres kanye west, who i don't
really like, but i do acknowledge the fact that he's a genius. i
would say most ppl do like kanye west and at the very least respect him
as a musician.

then there's jay-z who cameron made all these diss tracks hating on how
jay uses other people's lines. jay samples many peoples lines,
but not really the music. so how different is this from everyone
else that samples other musicians' beats? i would say 75% of the
popular songs now are sampled beats, whether you are aware of it or
not. even the essense of oldschool hiphop is sampled music, its
sampled from oldies and jazz songs. mc hammer sampled superfreak,
vanilla ice -hes an idiot and wouldnt admit it, but- sampled under
pressure, etc. hip hop was founded on sampling music, taking bass
riffs and using it as the melody. many of the songs you think are
classic hiphop tracks are actually not original beats, but
sampled. using other people's well known lines and making it his
own i think is fine and there shouldn't even be any controversy over
it. it's not like hes taking these secret lines from people that
no one knows about, anyone with a good ear and knowledge of hiphop
knows exactly who and what jay is referring to. in the same way
when beats are sampled its not some kind of super underground song no
one knows about, but anyone with a good ear and knowledge of music
knows exactly who and what song the sample is from.

another thing is people that hate on korean hip hop. if sampling
in american hip hop is acceptable then why the heck is korean hip hop
hated on? i remember when drunken tiger sampled sting's shape of
my heart, everyone hated on it, even though they loved the song before
they knew that it was a sampled beat. on the contrary, people
loved nas - the message, which sampled the same sting song.. wtf?
hip hop is hip hop, doesnt matter what country its made in, as long as
the foundation is there. step down haters.
